Dr Andrew Iles is an experienced consultant forensic psychiatrist who has worked in a wide range of clinical and criminal justice settings. After completing his training on the Maudsley training scheme in 2011, he led the mental health inreach team at HMP Brixton and helped set-up an innovative police mental health liaison project at Brixton custody suite.
He currently works for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in its Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service. In this role, Dr Iles is responsible for the care and supervision of mentally disordered offenders who are both in the community and in out-of-area secure hospitals. Dr Iles has experience of working across all levels of secure hospital care; between 2012 and 2017 he worked in low secure and medium secure male services at St Andrew’s Hospital in Northampton. He also has experience of working with women with personality disorders and eating disorders in a non-secure mental health unit in Coventry.
