Philip Kaloo

Mr Philip Kaloo is an experienced Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust.

In addition to a practice involving  general obstetrics and gynaecology he has a specialist interest in endometriosis / pelvic pain and advanced laparoscopic surgery. Mr Kaloo is the lead clinician for the regional Endometriosis Service.

Profile

Mr Kaloo graduated from University College London in 1993, completing general obstetric and gynaecology training in Bristol and the Wessex Deanery. He undertook a 2 year Clinical and Research Fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery and Endometriosis at the University of Sydney and University of New South Wales, Australia. He took up his Consultant post at Cheltenham General Hospital,  Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust in 2006.

Mr Kaloo obtained an M Sc in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from the University  of Surrey in  2012.

Mr Kaloo is the primary author for the RCOG National Greentop Guidelines for the Management of Ovarian Masses in the Premenopausal Woman and has been a Contributor to NICE Guidance on the Management of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding and the Management of Endometriosis.

Experience of giving evidence

Mr Kaloo has prepared obstetric and gynaecological medicolegal reports on behalf of claimants and defendants in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland since 2016.
