Profile

Dr Nigel Williams graduated from Edinburgh university in 1988 and completed his training in General Practice in 1994. He was awarded a Master’s degree in General Practice from the University of London in 1997. Dr Williams is a practising GP and has 28 years’ experience as a GP Partner working in both London and in Edinburgh.

Dr Williams has additional experience in medical education (as Postgraduate Educational Supervisor and Undergraduate Medical Tutor) and in medical management (as Primary Care Medical Director).

As well as daytime general practice, Dr Williams has experience in out-of-hours general practice and experience as a GP with Special Interest in drug and alcohol problems.

Dr Williams was elected to Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2009 and to Fellowship of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management in 2018.

Dr Williams has acted as an Expert in General Practice for the General Medical Council since 2016 providing Expert Reports (including Joint Reports) and giving Expert evidence in regulatory proceedings.

Dr Williams has extensive experience in giving written evidence and has prepared over 150 Expert Reports. He also has extensive experience in giving oral evidence at Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service hearings.

Availability

Dr Williams is available for face to face, telephone and remote consulting via Microsoft Teams. His current standard turnaround time for an Expert Report is within three weeks from receipt of instruction, although more urgent requests can usually be accommodated.
