Dr Gervais is a Registered Occupational Psychologist (HCPC), a Chartered Psychologist (BPS), and a Chartered Scientist, with extensive years of experience working with adults with mental health problems across a range of occupational settings. She is employed at present as a Principal Psychologist in private practice focusing on occupational safety and health issues to promote safe and healthy work practices. In this context she works collaboratively with organisations and individuals using risk assessments, psychometric assessments, training and coaching to assess and provide bespoke agreed solutions for the raised concerns.

She has extensive experience providing psychological assessment, formulation and support to adults with different work-related mental health challenges. Dr Gervais is published widely with respect to occupational safety and health, in various media, including in peer-reviewed journals and speaks at a variety of local, national and international conferences.

Dr Gervais is trained and accredited in the use of psychometric assessments. These include those used to assess on personality, attitude, aptitude, emotional intelligence, and intelligence. She relates the respective assessment to the specific job requirements, and determines when it is appropriate to use psychological tests and when they should not be used. She is used to describing measures when these are used within the context of wider case formulation and in outlining descriptions of psychological functioning and behaviours. Her practice integrates the use of evidence-based models, including cognitive behavioural approaches, which support her conscientiousness and thoroughness in her approach to her practice.
