Profile

Mr Rajnish Mankotia is an experienced healthcare leader and a General and laparoscopic Consultant Surgeon (colorectal) with 18 years of NHS experience and over 9 years of consultant experience. Mr Mankotia has Excellence in Report Writing – Written Evidence from Bond Solon’s (2023) and provides expert medical reports for Civil Proceedings.

Mr Mankotia currently works at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital – this is a busy trust which caters to over 600,000 people with a wide area of cover for central and west Birmingham.

Mr Mankotia is Surgical Trauma Lead in the Organization for the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) team. I am Advisor to the EPRR committee on Surgical response in the unlikely event of Terrorism or Major Incidence.

He has previously worked as a consultant surgeon at the Frimley NHS Trust in London, which the CQC named the “Best Trust in England”. His research interests include colorectal cancers, the treatment of IBD, endometriosis, and Trauma care. He regularly performs open and laparoscopic general and colorectal surgeries. Mr Mankotia is a SATu (Senior Academic Tutor) in charge of developing and implementing training programs for medical students and perform the duties of a course assessor and examiner in order to formally evaluate pupils. He is also EPRR response team’s advisor and the surgical lead for Trauma Services within the Trust. He was a co-investigator for the National PPAC-2( Peri anal abscess Study) and C-Gall ( Gall stones treatment ) Study and has presented at International Conferences and published many articles in international journals.

Availability

Mr Mankotia dedicates a couple of days a week to his medicolegal work, he is also available on weekends.
