Profile

Mr Elledge is a substantiative Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon based in Birmingham with busy commitments to the NHS and independent sectors, as well as an academic component to his work as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and active researcher.

He has a particular interest in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, being one of a small number of surgeons in the United Kingdom able to provide the full remit of treatments including TMJ arthroscopy, open joint surgery and total alloplastic joint replacement. He is an Associate Member of the European Society of TMJ Surgeons (ESTMJS) and SSIG Lead for TMJ Surgery for the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS). In addition, he is Fellowship trained in the management of skin cancer and treats non-melanoma skin cancer to exacting standards in his NHS and private practices.

More broadly, Mr Elledge treats the full remit of Maxillofacial Surgery conditions, including wisdom teeth (third molar surgery) and other dentoalveolar procedures, benign salivary gland disease, non-surgical cosmetic treatment and maxillofacial trauma. His Consultant role includes an on call commitment to a major trauma centre in a mixed military and civilian hospital.

Experience of giving evidence

Mr Elledge has been acting as an expert witness since 2018, producing thorough Court compliant reports on liability and causation, condition and prognosis and personal injury. He has prepared around 20 reports/annum in recent years and has excellent feedback from instructing solicitors. He is accredited with the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Certificate programme in Civil Law.

Availability

Mr Elledge has practicing privileges at a number of hospitals around the West Midlands and is happy to see clients at any of these locations. In the event that clients are residents at nursing or residential homes, then Mr Elledge would be happy to travel within the West Midlands region to assess. Evening and weekend appointments are a possibility.

Mr Elledge aims to appoint clients for examination within 4 weeks of being instructed and then to return a draft report within 14 days of completion of his examination.
